Oakwood Congolese Refugee Students (OCRS) is a community-driven initiative dedicated to restoring hope, resilience, and dignity among Congolese refugee youth and families. Founded with a vision to uplift and empower those displaced by conflict, OCRS serves as a bridge of support—helping students reclaim their future through education, mental wellness, and opportunities for self-reliance. What began as a small group of passionate leaders seeking to respond to the challenges faced by refugee students has now grown into a vibrant network committed to academic support, emotional healing, cultural unity, and community transformation.
Through scholarships, mentorship programs, mental health awareness campaigns, and practical life-skills training, OCRS equips young people to thrive academically, socially, and spiritually. The organization also celebrates community milestones—such as graduations, weddings, and personal achievements—to reinforce belonging and shared pride. Guided by its core values of compassion, integrity, empowerment, and service, OCRS continues to champion a future where Congolese refugees can rise beyond hardship and build lives marked by purpose, stability, and opportunity.
